The Oslo part of the FUGE Bioinformatics platform
With financial support from EMBIO, CEES in collaboration with USIT
has developed a third version of
the bioportal. CBO has
contributed significantly to this development. This is a framework
for making resources and bioinformatic software easily available
to researchers in life sciences. It has currently more than 100
users, and process about 400 analysis of different types each month.
The bioportal is constantly beeing expanded and is moving towards
making it a systems-biology resource, in the sense that data is
included from different resources. One project in this effort is
making the genegrabber framework and the pipeline made in
collaboration with the Salmon genome project.
The bioportal is also moving toward including more generic types of
analytical tools, such as R and Matlab. Tools for instance needed in
analysis of data from biobanks.
